We had a guy in the machine shop at the place where I worked as a printer and everyone would retreat to a safe distance when he went to turn on the power to circuits he'd been working on! Fireworks could sometimes be spectacular considering the voltages and power levels involved at the plant. Forget his name, let's call him George for the sake of this post. Whenever the lights flickered or dimmed or we heard a loud bang it became a common practice to say something to the effect of "there's George" or "George is at it again." The dude was notorious for his mishaps over the years yet the situation was never addressed in a manner that might have prevented George's unfortunate accident :-( Well seems George was working with some cutting equipment, not sure of the details as I worked in another building, but anyway George went to the hospital that day with a few less fingers than he'd arrived at work in the morning :-( At least a hundred people were aware of George's ineptitude around electricity and machine tools for *years*. To really top off George's month he was fired before he could return to work. There were lots of _Georges_ at that particular plant. One day a _George_ backing up a tractor trailer backed on top of the owners brand new Diesel Oldsmobile luxury car right in front of the owners, Gustavo Hernandez, private office. Gus appeared to be more than a tad steamed when he came storming out of his office as he had a fine view of the event his private offices tinted windows overlooking his parking spot. No-one was injured so we all got a fine laugh out of that one :-) Near instant transformnation of a large deluxe luxury car into a subcompact car Disclaimer: George as used in this account is in no way meant to reflect this individual's view of anyone named George but merely as a device used to portray a true account of incidents with individuals at one industrial plant. --- MultiMail/MS-DOS v0.45* Origin: FidoTel & QWK on the Web! www.fidotel.com (1:275/311) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 275/311 10/345 106/1 2000 633/267 |
