Ever (late-late-late at night) played with FM on 80m?
Tried it a few times and the results were bizarre compared to AM.
The difference in the circuitry used for FM/AM recieve resulted in more
noise and signals that were weak on ssb/am were extremely strong.
But we did have fun trying it..
>> So...wanna try some cw eh?
>> Try me next Saturday evening on 3700 +/-10 from 7pm Eastern.
JE> Sounds good. I'll even be there tonight, if anyone gets this early
enough.
I had it on 3700 from 7 Eastern and hear dnothing above SNAP! CRACKLE! and
all
sorts of other storm related junk as a sever storm front blew thru south of
me.
What a pain in the headphones!
With all the fancy doo-dads,bells and whistles they stuff in a modern Hf rig
you think they could put a little thought into some sort of filter system
that would kill the static blasts and lightening discharge splatter.
Want to try for -next- Saturday?
Same area...3700 up to 3725 on cw?
