This sounds like the solutionn I'm actually looking for. How does LoadLin operate in a Linux native partition or is some other utility used? Feel free to elaborate a bit as I've never setup this way but this is the way I want to go on my Win 98 - Linux box JB> so hda1 is the linux boot files hda2 is the FAT32 C: drive and hda5 the JB> second FAT32 (D:) and hda6 and up etc are the linux partitions. Would doing so relocate the file at the start of the drive if one were to set that attribute and defrag for system speed? My guess is it would but do you happen to know? I've a small Linux release here called Dragon Linux that operates on a FAT 32 partition but when unzipped it's out beyond 1024 cylinders and I get a kernal panic message. Seems alot of people don't like running Linux and Windows on the same drive but I'm not one of them. --- MultiMail/MS-DOS v0.45* Origin: FidoTel & QWK on the Web! www.fidotel.com (1:275/311) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 275/311 10/345 106/1 2000 633/267 |
