Heck, I still have two VHF only that work! MM> They are 'late models' though, have almost square picture tubes. That's remarkable, you must have done a bit by way of repairs along the way. I recall working on a round screen unit in a cabinat with doors that would close in front of the CRT and that it had safety glass in front of the CRT. Actually the CRT on the schematic pasted inside called it a "kinescope." I've been known to work on sets _hot_ and have only been bit hard once while doing so and it was on that set. Knocked me about pretty good but injuries were from secondary impact with solid objects. Darn schematic showed the point I'd probed as being at ground, it wasn't and that was the end of that restoration project. Can't imagine what would have happened if I'd gone straight to that point instead of checking it first using one of those pocket screwdrivers with inbuilt neon bulb and current limiting resistor. I do recall the current arcing about 1/4 inch and never having seen that neon light up so bright --- MultiMail/MS-DOS v0.45* Origin: FidoTel & QWK on the Web! www.fidotel.com (1:275/311) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 275/311 10/345 106/1 2000 633/267 |
