Hi all,
       I heard an interestign thin this morning. The introduction of
weed-and-pest-resistant GM canola in the USA has resulted in a 22%
INCREASE in the use of weed killers and pesticides. 

 What the hell? I thought GM canola was weed and pest *resistant*.

 So it is.

 The weeds and pests have adapted. The usual suspects have died
out with no easy-canola to prey on. Now they face stronger weeds and
pests... hence they need more chemical killers.

 Either the fuckwits at Monsanto don't understand the principle of
natural selection, or they *DO* understand it, too well, and are using
G-M to increase their sales of pesticides.
