What you name "server modem" is an ISDN modem (AFAIK). If well
featured, it can send in ISDN mode towards a V90 modem, at V90
speed(s). 

BW> Outbound falls back to 28k max (or so)..

Also 33.6 kpps (V34bis), if everything goes well.
