I should read something before shooting my mouth off, but I thought I saw
somewhere that Microsoft have documented that all Vista systems (including
MSDN and VLP) will require periodic validation with MS servers via the
Internet, or with an in-house server ("key management service")
that in turn periodically validates with MS via the Internet. (Or via a
product key manually entered if no network?)
On reflection, Geo's observations may be simply documented behaviour,
although I thought the validation period was much greater than three days.
Some more methodical testing certainly would be in order (and maybe some
RTFM!).
