  The whole FrontPage server extensions thing is definitely gone, and just
as well since they weren't installed on most of the servers I had to work with
anyway.

  The real strength is when combined with Visual Studio.  The web guy does
his thing with tweaking each pixel while the back end guys juggle data. They
have clearly defined interfaces and don't interfere with each other. In the
end, the web site works as desired.

   There is also a whole category of 'microtwip' web designers who have
been hand coding this stuff and are happy to automate some of it.
