That's what I've got now with the dos/dv setup that I don't see on that other 
machine,  it's got *snap*!
I assume that more ram _has_ to be the answer.  I upped this machine to 16M 
figuring it'd help some,  and what you describe here makes me think that 
perhaps I ought to take it further as finances permit...
