I've just this minute sent Joe a message re this anomaly.

I can assure you that you do.  This was proved beyond any doubt when
Russell brought his Courier around here a few weeks ago, and the line probe
stats were almost identical to those produced by my Sportster, to the same
remote modems.

And you have the cheek to accuse ME of jumping to conclusions in the
absence of absolute proof!  So far, BOTH explanations are only guesses,
nothing more.
