I dont normally call with the speaker enabled at all. I did on Sat am
to see what was going on when they never worked, or more strictly picked
the phone handset up to listen in. On the dud Sat am calls it was a very
characteristic very short burst of initial modem sounds from your modem,
which almost immediately then went to silence. Did sound a bit low in
volume, but hard to say since I dont normally listen.

Just tried it again a moment ago, did sound a bit louder, and then
my listening in on the phone stuffed up the negotiating anyway.
