       This is an IQ test.

Q1: The Mad Cow outbreak in England virtually destroyed the cattle
industry... so what would you do if you were a rancher in Canada or
the USA?

1.  Never use animal products to feed your cows.
2.  Go ahead and use animal products.
3.  Draw all your money out of the bank and burn it.

 If you are an American rancher, the correct answer is 2 and 3, and
it does not surprise me.

 I had an uncle who was a farmer. He did not give a shit for the
environment, the future, the health of other human beings... so long
as there was a buck to be made. He'd have fed his cows human babies if
they were cheap.

 Every time I picture a farmer I imagine Uncle Wallace. He's dead
now (thank Ba'al) but his spirit lives on. How could *anyone* be so
fucking stupid to keep feeding their cows animal gunk after it was
obvious to anyone with half a brain that Mad Cow is what happens next.

 To Uncle Wallace (and every farmer everywhere), there is no next.
You just go ahead, cut down all the trees and cause salinity, feed
cheap shit to your stock and cause Mad Cow, irrigate until the river
runs dry... and then hold out your hand for a government subsidy.
