KJ> Is it not a handfed baby? Why not just clip it and let it come out of
KJ> the cage?
Well, because it doesn't want out of the cage. that's what scaring
her. But also, I can't have them out all the time at will. I work parttime
and have clients here with my own business and company here now for at least
a month, so their free
time has to be monitored. I also run ceiling fans and have to make sure
they are off before they come out to play. Thanks for the advice though! If
things ever settle down around here may try it. The sun is trying very hard
to say pretty bird and is
getting louder and louder! Tiki is a bad influence on the other one, cause
he was not inclined to do that until she starts in and then he feels
compelled to join in. He's not nearly as loud as she is though. I'm not
sure Tiki is a she, by the way.
Just seems like a she to me. Loves attention!
RS>I took the lovebird
RS>to a local pet store though and traded him in on a peach-capped (?)
onure
RS>I'd been seeing in there and it wanted attention so bad. Had been a
family

KJ> I'm not sure I understand any of the mindset behind trading in pet

I don't either. I tend to keep things forever unless it's part of
the business and then you can't keep them all. I've got an Arabian mare
that's 22 yr. this month and I've had her 20 of those years! I used to raise
dogs and cats as well, but retired from that when we moved to the country.
Now it's just the horses (miniatures). At any rate it was hard to take my
lovebird in even though he didn't do anything but bark. He made a terrible
mess in his cage feeding perches and the lady at the pet store is the one I
bought him from 2 yr. ago. She took him home with her to use for breeding;
so I feel sure he's VERY happy now!
KJ> 2 conures--that's a good start! Soon you'll have enough! Keep

KJ> reading--there are some actually useful books out there these days.
KJ> "Conures" by Matthew Vriends is a small, fairly good basic conure book.
That's the one I bought! Only one that pet store had.
KJ> --Kathy
By the way, my pigeons are one eggs! We'll see what happens. Under
the circumstances, I don't give them much hope. They are still in the
smaller cage and with the weatherr we've had and that BAD storm yesterday,
I'll be surprised if they hatch.
It's also their first clutch I think. They are banded and are 1995 birds.
So we'll see in another 3 wks.
