The conversion really only consists of removing the fixed magazine. I
think you have to yank out the trigger mechanism to do so. The removable
magazines I have require the bolt to be pulled back to pull the magazine
out, not really a problem unless you count your rounds and like to swap
before the last one or two bullets are out...
I hope you like the SKS, mine has served me quite well, it now sports a
'normal' synthetic monte carlo stock, and feels very good. It still
shoots better than I do, perhaps if I get glasses so I can use the iron
sights better I might be able to challenge the gun's accuracy. By the
way- on the iron sights, there are elevation markings on the rear sight
for various distances, from 100 meters all the way up to 1000. Let us
know how those 1000 meter groups turn out, okay? :-)
