Since you want to play metal I would suggest getting an inexpensive electric.
You can pick up a Mexican made Fender Strat fairly cheap and they are good
quality. A small practice amp can usually be found for around a hundred
dollars used. Electrics are easier to play, and for the style of music you
want to to do they are essential. Metallica on an accoustic just doesn't
ever sound right. (Personel oppinion here, but they don't ever sound right
to me)
And if it happens you find playing guitat isn't something you want to do
after awhile, a Mex Strat is fairly easy to resell.
Good luck,
Bill
