I have no idea what it is you are referring to by the terms =
"encryptor video device driver" and "unencryptor for the
video input on = the
display device". Are you referring to something relating to HDMI or = HDCP? I
believe that's all hardwired in the hardware.

If you are interested in Protected Media Path, see =
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa376846.aspx and =
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/winlogo/drvsign/Pmp-sign.mspx. This = doesn't
apply to existing content that you play on Windows XP or Windows = 2000 so it
won't help you identify why "media player classic" or zoom =
don't work for you
for some files.

Ok, so there is a driver for the DVD drive, then there is a filesys =
driver,=20
then there is a decoder like decss or windvd8, then an encryptor video =

device driver for the video output, then an unencryptor for the video =
input=20
  on the display device, yes?

Lets take the video output driver, if that's been hacked so it =
provides an=20
unencrypted high def stream can it be disabled by some authority? =
Isn't this=20
supposed to be part of the trusted video path that palladium was =
supposed to=20
provide? If it can't be remotely disabled by Microsoft so it won't =
work in=20
Vista, wouldn't the MPAA be a bit upset?

  Geo.
