Thanks for posting this... it's an idea I hadn't thought of, and it may well
become important in the near future as my 4 drive external SCSI case is now
quite full! OTOH, I do have an unused mini tower case with 5 drive bays in it. 
My controller will run 30 devices, altho I don't expect to crowd that
capability any time soon! :^)
