BG> I'd positively KILL for lines like that!

RS> Well, I dunno if I would kill for one, but it sure would be nice.

BG> Given a free choice of your intended victim though, I wonder... :)

BG> Little Johnny might just be needing his flak-jacket after all. :)

True, I'd certainly be prepared to see
Jackboot a corpse and have a line like that |-)

RS> And you didnt say who he had called, presumably the bulldog.

BG> Yep. Dave's is actually a very useful board when it comes to
BG> requiring a good base-line reference for 33k6bps connects.

Yep, that combined with the graph of the actual frequency
response may well provide some damned interesting info over time.

RS> Have you noticed any obvious correlation with stuff like newer
RS> housing subdivisions or say areas where blocks of flats have been
RS> built relatively recently ? Presumably these are relatively new
RS> and not to long new cables between the exchange and the subs.

BG> Hard to say for sure, as the only new subdivisions around here appear
BG> to be using fairly normal pairs, although all the new stuff is
BG> underground (unlike mine, which traditionally hangs from the light
BG> poles). Presumably you know that there are 2 commonly used varieties
BG> of copper pairs, 4lb and 6lb weight (that's imperial notation, BTW
BG> :)), with the lossier (and cheaper) 4lb being the most prevalent.

I was thinking that if they werent within spitting distance of the
exchange like the bulldog and that FNQ site of Russ's, that maybe we were
seeing effectively the same thing with RCMs. Those are basically the entire
set of line interfaces moved out to a box out amoungst the customers.

BG> Can't speak for Tom, but I believe that he lives on Mt Glorious
BG> where there is basically only the one road, with all subs well
BG> away from any form of electrical or pulse interference, and I'm sure
BG> that makes quite a difference in his case. The lucky bastard! :)

I know he used to, I somehow got the impression that he might have
moved into Bris proper tho. Maybe from something he had said in an ad
or something. Corse that could have just been a visit into Bris too.
