Yep, use it all the time (assuming you meant NE2000).  Sounds like
it's not liking either the card selection OR the protocol you have
selected.  You need to select either NETBEUI, TCPIP or both for the
adapter on the setup screen.  Also, you wil probably have to edit the
PROTOCOL.INI file to get the desired startup function, domain name and
machine name set.
