I read recently, in email or printed magazine, about pussy-
willows. I recall that one soaked the twigs in water overnight,
or for several days, to simulate the spring rains. This causes
the sap to get ready.
I have, accordingly, placed my three rather dry sticks (99›
each) in the bathtub for the day. I plan to remove them tonight
and chop them into four-inch segments, smear with rooting
compound and place in sand and vermiculite.
Suppose these things actually shoot. Will I end up with a small
forest of willow trees in my apartment, or am i looking forward
only to one season of lush greenness-on-a-stick?
Thanks for any hints, suggestions or tips.
