Of course not.  After the military has made in investment in recruiting and
enlisting you, they will go to great lengths to see that you fill a needed
slot in a field unit (working on A10s for example).  They let Otto go; in
fact, he says they paid him to leave the Air Force.  Apparently, he was not
worth their effort.
