Excuse me Ed, I didn't want to create any bad feelings.
I've learned english by listening to radio from Australia, BBC and the
AFN (American Forces Network) in Europe after WWII, and reading QST and
Radio News, since 1947, long before the start of english lessons at
school.
I have always read a lot, and still do, in the languages I know.
Apparently all those sources have taught me a good knowledge of the
english language, as well as german. I do however loathe german and
finnish grammar. The latter was never needed, because the kitchen maid
my parents hired, spoke a perfect finnish.
My native language is swedish with finnish learnt in my childhood.
CU L8ER,
Holger
