PE> before my next round of wheeling and dealing begins (I flogged the PE> 486SX33 M/B for $50 and the 4 meg 80ns RAM for $50), I now have: PE> 486DX33 M/B (you said around $70) When a 586/100 PCI is new around $200-250 thats likely still reasonable. You might get $100 if you dont mind the risk of no interest and choosing to drop it when you dont. PE> Cirrus Logic 5428 SVGA card PE> VLBus IDE controller card. PE> What price would you suggest on the last 2 items? Well, that 586/100 motherboard would normally have the multiIO functions on it so one way to price the total would be to look at the 586/100 with a PCI video card at say $90 new, total $290-350 and look at what the whole lot of your old stuff might fetch. $150 total maybe, accept $120. PE> I was thinking of advertising the lot as: PE> GO VLBus!!!! PE> Everything you need to convert your existing PE> 386 ISA system into a VLBus 486 system! PE> Then list the items. Yeah, likely best way to go, maybe with a total price and price the components separately too, say $50 for the video, $5 for the multiIO. PE> Ok, so it's not as good as Bob's "surf the internet with PE> the 2400 baud modem", but not everyone's a born con-man. True, I do get the mental image of Bob stalking the streets in a dirty raincoat with stuff hanging inside the flaps of the raincoat, furtively flashing the goods to passers by. @EOT: ---* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 711/934 @PATH: 711/934 |
