Well, it's been waiting a little while, but EchoFix has finally been released 
in the DDSDOORS file echo.
EchoFix was inspired by EchoCheck for Maximus 2.x.
It reads each echoarea from your SQUISH.CFG, then scans MSGAREA.CTL for a 
matching TAG. If the TAG is not found, EchoFix will create MSGAREA.ECF in the 
Max directory and add the details for the missing area to MSGAREA.ECF in max 
3.x format.
For those SysOp's who run SqaFix as a message area robot, and (like me) keep 
the descriptions in SQAFIX.CFG up to date, EchoFix can be told to read this 
file and find the descriptions for the echoarea, instead of just using the 
echo tag.
An example of an area from MSGAREA.ECF :

In the first example, either there was no description for INTBBS_WK or 
SQAFIX.CFG was not used. There was no -p in SQUISH.CFG, so it 
assumed the default address in Maximus was being used. In the second example, 
there was a description, as well as '-p170:64/0' in the SQUISH.CFG line for 
TF_BRIDGE.
The text 'Your Origin Line' can be replaced easily by most text editors 
gloabl search&replace commands.
If you're like me, and add 2-300 echoareas to your system (for downlinks) 
between updates to MSGAREA.CTL, and suddenly decide you want them all 
available to BBS/OLR users, EchoFix will be a valuable asset and save several 
hours by doing most of the typing in under 2 minutes (in most cases).
EchoFix is capable of rebuilding your entire MSGAREA.CTL file from scratch, 
although it does need to have an existing file in place.
It can also be used to check for any areas that you may have not added to 
MSGAREA.CTL, especially usefull when you have a large system.
Whatever you use it for, EchoFix will be a valuable asset to your Maximus 
system.
