subject: Stuff This For A Jok

GG> A few weeks ago, I had bronchitis and went to the doctor and
GG> got antibiotics and he gave me an Xray slip for the following
GG> week in case I didn't come good. Just my luck, that when I
GG> finished up the antibiotics, both Rod and I came down with a
GG> nasty case of the flu. I swear I'm still getting over it.

Aha! Exactly the same happened to me. I've had a shocking month.
First I got bronchitis, then larangytis before the GP put me on
antibiotics. It cleared up thebronchitis like magic, my voice came
back...just in time to get the 'flu! A really hard dry cough that left
my chest muscles sore... and to cap it all I had an attack of gout.

 Bloody hell! I'm still coughing.

GG> Apparently one of the doctors at the meeting saw a shadow that
GG> could mean the lining of my lung (pleura), might be inflamed so
GG> they want to do a CT (cat) scan. They also want to do another
GG> bone scan.

GG> My doctor (the BC one) did stress that the shadow seen was very
GG> subtle, so subtle in fact that the first tech who read my xrays
GG> and did the first report didn't notice it. So this all really
GG> could be a nothing, and same with the bone scan. They're
GG> playing it safe.

Medicare turns a nice profit for them once they've got you. The GP
sent me off for a chest X-Ray too. I don't mind tests. I have faith in
specialists being able to find things... or nothing. Unless it's
absolutely clear, they just send you off for more tests...

GG> I've been taking codiene stuff the last few weeks for the pain,
GG> and have only gradually worked my way to taking two of the over
GG> the counter Extra Strength Panadols every 4hrs and wish I had
GG> sooner (was trying to avoid taking too much of the codiene
GG> stuff).

Yair. He put me on codeine-stuff too, and it did stop the cough but
it wiped me right out! And destroyed what little appetite I had left.
Codeine sucks.

GG> Anyway, the last two days I have felt a bit better, but I think
GG> that's due to the drugs. As they wear off, I'm just as sore as
GG> I have been. If it's a nothing, the pain is just my chest
GG> muscles repairing themselves from my recent bout of the flu
GG> (first I've had since radiation).

I have the same thing, sore all the way down the sides. I did have
hopes that I might develop a washboard belly, but all I've got is sore
fat and a hacking cough.

GG> Scary stuff. If it's not nothing, it's either lung cancer or
GG> mets to the lungs from the breast cancer.

I got the same... it's not catching over the BBS, is it? I even
coughed a spot of blood, but the X-Ray said the lungs were clear. I'll
know for sure in 6 months... lung cancer is quick.

This year's flu seems to be an utter bastard. And I had the anti-flu
needle too! Has it ruined your appetite? I've been living on bloody
eggs and milkshakes.

Regards,
Bob
