i have a r/s frequency counter and have used it for about 1 1/2 to 2 years. 
it seems to be a very accurate unit, well built and fairly rugged (do field 
work and my tools seem to suffer for it)
however for 'snooping' the sensitivity seems to suffer.  it will read an out 
put but you have to be very close (within 4-5 feet to get a good reading. and 
of course it has no memoryso you have to be able to read the unit as it 
samples.
