My first programmable scanner was a BC-210, bought in the late '70s.
Gave it to my sister years ago; it's still in use on her desk at the TV 
station where she works as a news-grabber-type.
The Whamo-10 used aluminum "combs" with teeth that you broke off according to 
the patterns in a book of frequencies.... great audio, too.
