Dunno about Works, but if using it as a dialler only, try suffixing your
dialling string with a semi-colon (;), which should dial the number, then
return to command mode.

Binkley should work just fine with this...

Of course, you'll need to configure your SE's NVRAM first. 

Try AT&F&C1&D2W2S95=47&W.  Looks pretty basic, but it
should work fine.

BTW, are you setting up your serial port with the "mode" command?
 If not, add the following line to your config.sys...

RUN=MODE.COM COM2:57600,N,8,1,DTR=OFF,RTS=HS,OCTS=ON,TO=ON,XON=OFF,BUFFER=ON
