Each SDL for the Courier is a complete, self contained package.  No SDL to 
date requires that any other specific SDL has been loaded into the modem.  
You are at liberty to flash forward and back as you see fit (bearing in mind 
that the ROM has a limited number of writes).  As for x2, once it's enabled, 
it stays enabled regardless of the SDL applied.  When you install the V.90 
SDL, both x2 and V.90 should be enabled.  YOu can verify this by looking at 
the options line of the ATI7 display.
