There you've hit on one of my pet peeves with even printed manuals and
books.  Why!!!!!!  

They put the diagram or picture on "page 12", and all the text
references to that picture begin on "page 22".  (Or vice-versa).

This past Spring, I had occasion to overhaul an outboard motor for a
friend, and the 'referenced pictures' in the Service Manual were not even
in the same chapter.  Never have I run across a more infuriating task.

I finally took my own pictures of the engine and put them in the computer,
then I could view the pictures in a logical sequence while reading the
associated text from the manual of what to do with certain parts.
