Title: Sloppy Joe Pocket Sandwiches

Yield: 1 Servings
1 Pound ground beef
1 sm Onion, chopped
1/2 c Chopped celery or green pepp
1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
1/2 c Catsup
1 tb Vinegar
1 tb Worcestershire sauce
1 ts Dry mustard
1/8 ts Pepper
2 (6-inch) pita bread rounds
Lettuce leaves (optional)
birthday. Combine ground beef, onion, and celery in a large skillet;
cook until meat is browned. Drain off pan drippings. Add tomato
sauce, catsup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and pepper;
bring to a boil. Cover sauce, reduce heat, and simmer 15 to 20
minutes, stirring occasional pita bread rounds in half; line each
pocket with lettuce leaves, if desired, and fill each half with meat
sauce. Yield: 4 servings.

Title: Sloppy Joe Seasoning Mix

Yield: 1 Servings
1 T Instant Minced Onion
1 t Salt
1/2 t Instant Minced Garlic
1/4 t Celery Seed
1 t Green Pepper Flakes
1 t Cornstarch
1/4 t Dry Mustard
1/4 t Chili Powder
Combine all ingredinets in a small bowl until well blended. Spoon
mixture onto a 6-inch square of aluminum foil and fold to make
airtight. Label as Sloppy Joe Seasoning Mix. Store in a cool, dry
place and use within 6 months.
Makes 1 package (about 3 T) of mix. Sloppy Joes: Brown 1 lb lean
ground beef in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Drain excesss
grease. Add sesoning mix, 1/2 cup water, 1 (8 oz) can of tomato sauce
and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes, stirring
occasionally. Serve over toasted hamburger buns.
Makes 6 servings
