Hallo Tony,

its "Wie" instead of "wei" but anyway
Danke der Nachfrage.

Is the time that the neccessary copying to the ramdisk already in your
calculation?

As you probably have seen in my codingfragments I do not like gotos.
TP> Ah ..... that's sounds about right Claus, thanks.
Glad I have been of any help

Although I love 4dos I have discoverd that there isn't a thing that can't be
done with rexx. So if the needed solution won't work with 4dos (menues as
needed) and Rexx isn't available the commercial editor kedit (as mentioned in
another message) would be a good choice, because his internal programming
language is Kexx which is a subset of rexx that is enough for most tasks. In
fact AME KEdit is pretty much like Xedit under VM on IBM's hosts.
TP> Presently .... I'm doing things manually,
the only thing that I do manually doesn't belong into this area :))
TP> to contend with 30+ megs of data in some 3000+ emails, it's
TP> exploded to the point where automation is mandated.
more than 30 times doing the same thing is surely a job that should be
automated.
TP> I've just bought a couple of books on REXX, so once I've got a
TP> working 4os2 solution (minus the PM i/f menu) .... I'll get into
TP> seeing what PM programming with some PM rexx tools can give.
Thats seddling the horse from behind, because if you wish to do it with Rexx
your work before is wasted.
TP> FWIW ..... The data is on the 'Asian Crisis' + private Think Tank

TP> have?
Thats allways a problem when it comes to computers. You'll never have enough
time.
TP> OK ..... gotta go ....and BIG thanks for your suggestions/thoughts.
You're welcome.
TP> a new behemoth to put it on .....
^^^^^^^^ my dictionaire is on strike here.....
TP> .... these 'so-called' gurus couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery....
Which is pretty much the same in each part of live, unfortunatly. Tax
laywers, programmers... even carpenters follow that rules. They just don't
know nothing, they just pretend.
Only once in a while, perhaps when the planets have the right constallation
you meet exceptions from that rule.
