The Pros and Cons list is aimed at answering all questions that begin
  "Which C++ compiler", from "Which C++ Compiler should I
buy?" through to
  "Which C++ Compiler includes an assembler?".

  You'll note that the ethos of the Pros and Cons list is for you to
  decide how to weigh up the pros and cons of the various C++ compilers
  yourself, and which ones outweigh which others.  This is deliberate,
  because it is the case that different people have different criteria.
  Some want an outstanding language implementation and will suffer a poor
  debugger for it.  Others want an IDE and are prepared to suffer the lack
  of a quality code generator.  Yet others want cross-platform support and
  are prepared to suffer an idiosyncratic toolset.  I, for example, chose
  MetaWare High C++ 3.32.

  The Pros and Cons list is posted here on a regular basis, either monthly
  or whenever I make significant updates.  The full Pros and Cons Archive
  including some value added documents, such as the SOMObjects Travel
  Guide the DirectToSOM Intro and a couple of more in-depth C++ compiler
  reviews, is also available for File Request.

  The Pros and Cons Archive also includes a very small booklist, that is
  gradually growing as I have time and energy to add information to it.
