You should _at_ _least_ have 20 MB to use EMX. A 486/33 is a bit weak, too. I would not reccommend using EMX on a 486 processor at all. However - RAM is more important than the cpu. You should upgrade your memory as soon as possible. I have a Pentium/133 with 64 MB of RAM, and I believe (from experience) that, if you want to do serious C++ programming, you should at least have 32 MB. If you intend to use the C language only (no C++ features), you might get happy with Watcom C++, but 8 MB of RAM are not enough, anyway. 12 MB might do, but I would reccommend 16 MB or more, unless you own enough good books to read while the compiler is busy ;-) Tschuess, Steffen --- FastEcho 1.40+* Origin: Warum guckst'n Du so ?!
