In my situation this was not as obvious as I would have liked it to be.
Until I figured out that my workgroup name was different, (I had changed
it) my machine would try to dial out whenever I double clicked on
certain desktop shortcuts and when I tried to access RAS service.
Numerous answers given to me in the MS Newsgroups brought no joy. Of
course my problem was brought about by my own inexperience. I'm
learning (but maybe not as fast as I wish).
