Hmmmm.... I guess I knew the bush didn't need it, since the
stem below the hip was dead and it broke off easily. I don't
know why I thought it might be storing energy. Even if it was,
the bush couldn't use it.
I guess it's a "fruit"?
I know I've seen rose hips in some vitamin C pills.
It's funny, how nature can make such vivid colors out of dirt.
The bush I was just messing with, has a dark red rose. It was
here when I moved in. The ones I planted are that tangerine
color that they sell in impatiens.
