I've been looking (for a long time) into the possibiity of obtaining software
to capture WEFAX signals with GIF or ANSI capability for the Commodore 128
computer. Everything these days seems to be geared toward the IBM, MAC
INTOSH or APPLE computers. There are some programs that I know of for the
AMIGA computers. But, I would like to get something that is specifically
designed for the C128. I've got a PK232 PAKRATT. However, the WEFAX
pictures come over with lousy resolution when using the PK232 in dummy
terminal mode. Several years ago (circa 1987), there was an advertisement
from a software company which manufactured programs for the Commodore line.
One ad I read in Popular Communications said software for the Commodore 128
would soon be arriving on the market. But, that's the last I heard of it.
Aparently, no equipment ever came out. Now I understand that Commodore is
going back into business in the near future. Perhaps someone will develop
software packages for both RTTY and FAX at that time which could be used with
the C128 computer. Any help from you folks here would be appreciated. Happy
Monitoring...Brian.
