As I understand it, during transmit, each card looks at what it is supposed
to be sending, and compares that with what is _actually_ being transmitted. If
they're different, it assumes a clash and waits a random amount of time before
trying again.

That's what I love about avtech. The subject always changes, and you never
know how, why or in which direction.
