Fine & dandy then lets say that Linux runs on mobile phones, PDA'es,
PVR'es & Mainframes. So let's choose the Motorola mobile phone linux
then.

Rich was seeking to say that a distribution loaded with 3'rd party apps etc
is thus "linux". Hummm I wonder if GAIM is preloaded onto the
motorola A760 mobile phone? I wonder if it's part of the Suse version for
the IBM Mainframe...? I wonder if it's part of SE Linux?

Was SQL Slammer a windows problem or a SQL Server problem? I would say it
was a SQL Server problem. I would not say CodeRed was a Windows problem but
a IIS one. You could happily run Apache & not have IIS on the machine.

I would put it this way, if it's not an "install choice" then
it's definitely OS. I.e. are you given a choice with XP as to whether you
want OE or IE?
