Just to toss a little more Zippo-fluid on the fire, I heard
and/or read somewhere (honest, I really did...just don't remember
where now) that at least one dentist who saw Monica's smile on
the now-famous White House ID photo says she appeared to be
suffering from what was termed "third-stage gum disease."  I have
no idea what third-stage gum disease entails, but it certainly
doesn't sound very good; if it involves open sores, that would be
an almost-certain entryway for infections of all sorts.
