One of the problems you face Mark, is that when you say you are a
Christian, you get lumped with others who have made the same, and
are given some of the same attributes that they claim. This is a
problem I have encountered several other times in the postings.
To some considerable degree, it is an example of the lack of true
clarity in the Bible, that there are so many interpretations of a
document that says, as most of you do seem to agree, is the 'word
of God'. If it is so clear, then why in heaven's name, is it so,
that so many who ascribe to it, do not understand it? If it were
the word of God, it would be much more believeable to the rest of
us, if you all would agree on just what it says.
But inasmuch as you, and so many other 'Christians' do not agree,
it looks to the rest of us like the Bible is not the word of God,
for if it were, it would be so clear that no wars would have been
fought, no witchhunts, nor heresy trials over what it said. God,
you would think, would have been able to inspire scribes to write
so clearly that it would preclude such evil in God's name.
