RS> Now $487, not that cheap at all. Atleast one crowd RS> at $400, and another at $440, all for the same drive. PE> Where can I get the drive for $400? Forte. One thing I keep forgetting to point out to you is that in your situation, where you have spent a bit with Acuma, in that situation you may well be able to just say 'hey, I can get this from $400 from Forte, will you give it to me for that too ?' and they will often say yes. Not always tho, obviously if he paid more than that for it himself, he aint gunna. PE> I did. Acuma is selling 70ns EDO for $265 from memory. PE> It was a ludicrous figure, whatever it was. RS> I noticed one crowd with only a $10 surcharge for EDO. PE> That's fairly irrelevant. When I was buying my RAM, one PE> mob (Memory World) had a $0 surcharge for EDO. A great PE> pity that their 60ns RAM was twice the price of Yum Cha. I didnt mean that, I meant that they had good prices for the normal, and only $10 more for the EDO. PE> What's your best-found prices for: PE> What's your best-found prices for: PE> 60 ns fastgate PE> 60 ns EDO PE> 70 ns fastgate PE> 70 ns EDO I didnt bother to chase all those up, gets a bit expensive at STD rates. Just concentrated on the first one. Didnt find any better than $180, but again, didnt try all that hard, coz there aint much point in spending heaps chasing a $10 saving. Thats one area which is completely bloody fucked, you ought to be able to use a decent high tech system for combing for decent prices instead of farting around with voice phone calls. You cant even get the fucking Computer Market Mag or the Trading Post in electronic form on the net etc either. Or the SMH ads. And the payment system is even more fucking medieval with most of them wanting a direct deposit to their bank account or cash. There are quite a few which will take Visa at a 3% surcharge, but thats significant money for the convenience of ordering by phone. @EOT: ---* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 711/934 712/610 @PATH: 711/934 |
