Because if you want luscious, juicy tomatoes you have to treat
your baby tomatoes just right!:)    They like they're little
containers. You can feed, water, keep them warm, give them the
right ammount of light.  Then when they get some roots move them
to a bigger pot.   I think you'll find if you start one in your
large container you won't get nearly as good results. It's just
easier to give them all the right conditions in small pots at
first.
