Hello Michiel MvdV>>> If you have found a way to change the codepage in a WIN98SE dos MvdV>>> box, I am very interested to know how you did that.... MK>> I found no way, i use solid command line knowledge. ;) MK>> First you have to prepare two codepage settings in autoexec.bat: MK>> mode con codepage prepare=((437) C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\ega.cpi) MK>> mode con codepage prepare=((850) C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\ega.cpi) MvdV> Etc, etc... MvdV> I tried that of course. Years ago. And again just now. MvdV> It does not work. It /reports/ codepage 437 and displays it in full MvdV> screen mode. In Windows mode it displays CP 850, no matter what. I must admit that changing codepage is a problem with W98SE. I do some trials to get it work with two prepare-lines (437/850), but windows seems to prefer 850. Cause i have no need for codepage 850 i give up after a handful trials. If i prepare only codepage 437 and select this in autoexec.bat i have codepage 437 everywhere. And as i write, i have no disadvantage by using 437. Sorry to suggest some hope.
