I browsed through it, sounds like what I did and I never had any problems
before switching the Gamesrv over to another purpose. Just for continuity, you
may want to mention in the FAQ that it used to be called Telsrv (apparently
that's a well-known name for some other thing Manning didn't want to be
associated with), and it seems like he may be in the process of renaming it
Mannsrv. He's released a new version and a patch over the last week.

I'm not sure how exact you need to be in modem setup details, I'm just
mentioning this for anyone who might end up talking someone through the
process. As I understand it, Netfoss and probably all the others that perform
the same function ignores/replaces all references to COM, IRQ, etc with the
proper Win handle number. The only thing to be careful of with modem setup
that I know of would be any really old door packages that might read a comport
higher than 2 from the drop file and throw a fit. I set all my modems up for
com2 and it worked fine (it's still reflex from pre-ps/2 mouse days to avoid
com1 like the plague).
