The problem is while you have not yet gone to bed. Some people get quite a pronounced disturbance to their normal sleep patterns if they spend the evening in a very brightly lit room. That makes it a lot harder to sleep when they do go to bed, as bad as say trying to sleep at 4pm etc. There has been quite a bit of interesting science done on that, including deliberately manipulating peoples sleep patterns by lighting.
