  I think that scares the shit out of free-to-air tv stations more.  Time 
shifted viewing makes commerical breaks just about obselete.  Not like the few 
VCRs around that fast-forward about 30 seconds, these buggers do it in about 
half a second.

  As you said, people don't watch movies more than about three times.  I didn't 
actually believe that till after you menitioned it, and I find myself bored of 
recorded movies or DVDs, there's the odd few that are the exception to the 
rule, but for the most part, it just isn't worth taping anything.

  However, free-to-air is "free" because of advertising.  That's
why off-air 
recorded stuff is not counted as far as ratings go.  As far as the stations go, 
if you're not sitting in front of it, viewing something live, then you're not 
really watching it and it doesn't count towards ratings.

  You get what you pay for.  Give the choice of Shrek and Bumbandits, I'll take 
shrek anyday.
