We went in March.  And it SNOWED at the Grand Canyon!  It was about 3 zillion 
degrees in Phoenix though (g).  Ask Vicki about our Jeep ride from the 
airport....I just laid back and soaked up the sun!  I'd watch the weather 
real carefully if I were you.  Especially this year!  What route are you 
taking from LA to Arizona?  Are you driving or flying?  I'd almost fly to 
Flagstaff from LA and rent a car there if you could.  Driving to the GC 
during the winter months can get hairy, I've heard.  They close the northern 
portion during the winter anyway, so you'll have to go to the South Rim.
