We had a smashing show on Saturday night, followed by the most OBSCENE
ventriloquist act I have ever beheld. Naturally we had to tape it. :)
Aside from the odd news about a good show, I've been the victim of
startup failure, as it were, for the past two gigs...
Last week I put the guitar on and the battery immediately fell out of
the wireless xmitter (this was the gig where the dj tried to `fix' the
horrible feedback squeal by lowering the TAPE volume). On Saturday, I
noticed the pilot lamp on the amp wasn't glowing (during our opening
number, which we do to tape). After a quick look-see, everything was
connected.
What happened? The %$ing dj kicked out our power plug feeding the
stage.
It's only a matter of time til I have to tape my guitar parts and run
the p.a. on batteries. Don't laugh. :)
In the meantime, we managed to get what I hear was a pretty good Hi8
video of our show, which we're going to add to the pile for a demo.
Does anyone have any experience with editing video to pc with one of
those little $99 doohickeys that plug into the parallel port?
I'm told the audio was pretty good too. I'm thinking of doing a little
more audio recording and maybe adding some live stuff to our new tape or
for the website. Info will follow.
