 I have had that happen on a Car with a soft Lower Radiator Hose. Pump
Suction caused it to colloapse at Freeway speeds.

Us Californians wel lrembember those Idiotic Manditory "Smog Upgrade"
kits for cars that disabled the Vacuum Spark Advance. They burned up
many an engine. In fact so much stink was raised that they finaly
Recinded the regualtion for older cars.
